The Bookworm Questionnaire
1. What book are you reading right now?
Nick Harkaway’s “The Gone-Away World”. 2. What will you read next? Either some Agatha Christie or the next Jasper Fforde 3. What was your favorite childhood book? The Mr Men, of course, and “Who Said Sue Said Whoo?” 4. What were your reading habits like as a kid? If it had words, I had a read. 5. How many books do you have checked out from the library? None … I buy all my books. 6. What books do you have on hold at the library? See above. 7. Do you have a bad book habit? Not anymore, I used to dog-ear pages. 8. Do you read one book at a time, or several? One - it’s not fair on books to read them at the same time. You lose the magic if you keep switching. 9. What is your favorite book you’ve read this year? It’s only early, but best book so far was probably “The Tiny Wife” by Andrew Kaufman 10. What is your least favorite book you’ve read this year? John Green’s “An Abundance of Katherines”. 11. What is your reading comfort zone? I’ll go anywhere, read anything. I do tend to avoid stuff set during the world wars though. 12. How often do you read outside of your comfort zone? Occasionally … I spread my feelers as wide as I can across the literary world. 13. What is your favorite place to read? Bed, but anywhere will do. 14. Do you lend out books? Sometimes, only to people I trust. 15. Do you dog-ear books? Not anymore. 16. Do you write in the margins of books? No, I can’t write on a book… 17. What makes you love a book? Characters that fall off the page and a story that grips. Not much, I’ll always tell people what to read. They just rarely listen. 19. What is the one book you will always recommend to everyone? “Boy Meets Boy” by David Levithan. If the reader is a proper book person, I always recommend “The Eyre Affair” by Jasper Fforde too 20. Is there a book you love that nobody else seems to? Anything by Jasper Fforde - he just doesn’t get enough attention for what he’s created. 21. Do you read while you are: Eating? Taking a bath? Watching TV? Listening to music? On the computer? On the bus? The bus and eating, sure. But no other media is ever on, or I won’t focus. 22. What is your favorite genre to read? I don’t really have a specific genre … 23. What genre do you rarely read, but wish you read more of? I do need to try a Western or two… 24. What is your favorite biography? No, but there’s one on the list. 27. What is your favorite reading snack? If a book’s that good, it’s the only nutrition I need. 28. What is the most inspirational book you’ve read this year? Still too early to say this year… 29. Are there any books that have been ruined for you by all the hype? Mmm, John Green. And anything Richard & Judy recommend. 30.
